CRCOG RFQs and RFPs:

NEW! CRCOG RFP FOR VOICE OVER INTERNET PROTOCOL SERVICES

The Capitol Region Council of Governments (CRCOG) is soliciting responses from qualified and experienced firms who have expertise in Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) services. The intent of this RFP process is to solicit pricing proposals that will establish through competitive negotiation a contract for VoIP services to member communities of CRCOG’s IT Services Cooperative. This is a grant funded project and is subject to the successful funding of work performed by the CT Office of Policy and Management.

The Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) demonstration project is one of five projects funded through legislation in FY2014-15 to showcase the value of the state’s public high speed broadband fiber Nutmeg Network and encourage secure, on-network sharing of software and IT services. All five projects are being carried out by the Capitol Region Council of Governments in partnership with the Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology (CCAT) as a result of the Back Office savings strategy for local governments developed by the Connecticut General Assembly’s M.O.R.E. Commission (Municipal Opportunities for Regional Efficiencies)’s Regional Entities group. All five projects are funded by the CT Office of Policy and Management and subject to release of grant funding by that agency.

The contract(s) awarded as a result of this RFP will implement the demonstration project that enables Connecticut municipalities to have VoIP telecommunications capability utilizing the Nutmeg Network. CRCOG is managing the demonstration project in partnership with CCAT on behalf of six Connecticut municipalities. Once the demonstration phase is complete, the VoIP project will become a permanent service offering through CRCOG’s IT Services Cooperative. Any municipality, board of education or local government entity may be a member of this cooperative.

The following six participating municipalities have been selected for the demonstration project that is the subject of this RFP:

  • Town of Barkhamsted
  • Town of Bethel
  • Town of Hebron
  • Town of Simsbury
  • Town of Somers
  • Town of Windsor Locks
