- New Britain/Hartford Busway Station Area Planning Project: This project was a transit-oriented development study for the New Britain/Hartford Bus Rapid Transit line. The primary goal of the project was to coordinate transportation and land use planning in order to enhance development around transit stations and maximize the benefits of the busway investment. Conducted by the Capitol Region Council of Governments with a consultant team led by the Crosby, Schlessinger, and Smallridge, the project worked with municipal and community leaders in Hartford, West Hartford, Newington, and New Britain to develop underutilized property into vibrant walkable districts with easy access to regional transit.
The project documents are available on our Publications Page.
The Capitol Region Council of Governments is now working to implement Transit-Oriented Development.
