CRCOG has collected Capitol Region home sales data in various forms since 1978. We now produce an annual report, published in September, which covers the period from July 1 to June 30th of each year. This study provides a snapshot of the housing market during a particular year. The residential sales transactions that are recorded each year differ in many respects such as: the mix of new versus existing homes; the mix of existing versus converted condominiums; the size, style, condition, and location of the units; and the size of the building lots. However, each report now also includes a rolling three-year analysis that provides a good means to assess general trends in a municipality and the region.
