A tribute to its success, the CAPTAIN Mobile Data Communication System was named the statewide standard. The system is home to approximately 1,200 laptop computers in 80 different police organizations that link them to local, state and national criminal information files.

Members of the Public Safety Council have played a vital role in this process, traveling to town halls, police departments and Councils of Governments throughout the state to promote and demonstrate the program.
