The Jobs Access Program quickly provides transportation to work sites all over the Greater Hartford region. Please call Mario Marrero at (860) 522-2217, ext. 233 to check availability. For the rider, it costs the same as regular bus service.
The program began in 1997 when CRCOG brought together a number of transportation providers, social service organizations, the City of Hartford, job developers, and employers to plan for additional transportation to help people leaving welfare and entering the work force. This group became known as the Capitol Region Jobs Access Task Force. CRCOG acts as the task force coordinator and program administrator.
The Jobs Access Program now regularly transports more than 3,800 people to work every workday. The program has been cited by the U.S. Department of Transportation and the Federal Transit Administration as a national model for access to jobs transportation services. |
