CRCOG’s Transportation Committee does a preliminary review and advises the Policy Board on all transportation issues that come before the Council.  The Policy Board acts as the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for the Region and has the final authority for all decisions.

The Transportation Committee is chaired by a member of the Policy Board who must also be a chief elected official from one of the member towns.  Each town appoints a representative to the Transportation Committee (the City of Hartford is allowed four representatives.)  Many representatives are town engineers or town planners but some are elected officials.  In addition, there are a small number of appointments made by the Chair of the Policy Board to represent special groups such as the Greater Hartford Transit District and the Environmental Justice Advisory Board.

The Transportation Committee meets once a month (usually the 3rd Monday of the month) at noon at the CRRA, 211 Murphy Road, Hartford, Hartford.  There are no regular meetings held in July, August, or October. Meeting notices, documents and minutes may be accessed through the Transportation Committee Meeting Page.
